REPLY TO THE EDITORIAL ON H.T.

We are recently noticing that various stories published about us in different online newspapers. In public interest we are posting our reaction on our website.

The Weekly Blitz is not a paper one frequents so often, however, it seems every time one checks its on-line publication; there is one or more new sensational, (read malicious) write-up about the Hezbut Tawheed. Apart from the paragraphs that have been quoted verbatim from the leaflet of our movement every other line printed there is a lie! The tangle of lies and deceit the editor of this publication has embarked upon is with the sole intention of maligning the good name and reputation of our group and that of our Emam, Mohammad Bayazeed Khan Panni. He claims we are spreading hate through our leaflet whereas in fact, there is not one topic that is hateful towards any people or person of other faiths. It is the editor himself who spreads hate speech against our movement with his concocted untrue tales of various statements made by our Emam. He claims Hezbut Tawheed has been carrying out ′illegal activities′ and ′secret operations′ across the country, whereas it is a matter of record that in the 14 year of its existence there has not been a single case of any type of illegal actions or unlawful activities by any member of this organization. We have repeatedly printed adverts in all leading dailies of this country to support our claim. One would think that before publicizing a write-up about any person or group, the most basic information about it would be verified. However, in the case of these in question, the editor has not even taken the trouble to check these in fact, all the addresses provided for the office of our movement are false, as is the statement that founder of this movement left Bangladesh soon often independence and returned in the 80′s. He was very much in this country and has continued his medical practice from the early 70′s to this day. We challenge you to prove your claims with irrefutable proofs otherwise apologize in public for these false allegations. It is also evident that the editor dose not know the meaning of the word-′kingpin′ if he does, then if proves his usage of this term to denote our leader is nothing but malicious and devious in intent. The Islamic ′Azan′ is the call to prayer and the ′salaam′ most gracious of all greetings in the world. Why would some one who wants to spread the word of Allah want to bad mouth these institutions or teem one as ′bark of dog′ and the other as ′bad practice′? These lies have been spread using the Emam′s name only to malign him and his movement in the eyes of the general God fearing people of this country. It is further alleged here that Hezbut Tawheed receives funds from ′unknown donors′ to gain military strength! This statement would be hilarious if it′s intent, what in insinuates were not so dangerous, for it is common knowledge among the people of this country as well as the various intelligence agencies that have carried out extensive investigation into our movement that far from receiving funds from ′unknown donors′. Hezbut Tawheed does not accept even a dime from anyone not belonging to this group. Furthermore, the statements made have using our Emam′s name as regards to conduct and attitude towards women are so vile, so degrading that we find it in extremely bad taste to even repeat. Our Emam is one who puts as much emphasis on the ′ebadah′, ′worship, good deeds′ of women as he does of those men, therefore to even suggest that he could say these things about women, females of other faiths brings to the fore the actual evil-designs of this editor. We ask you, Mr. Editor have you ever had any personal contact with our leader? Have you had any conversation with him regarding his objectives? The answer to both these questions is surely negative, then where do you get these ′learnt from various reliable sources′ information? We ask you to cite the names and sources of this information, so that we too may contact them and learn things about ourselves that we don′t ourselves know, are unaware of. Lastly, who is in the payroll of whom and used for what purpose is quite evident from the awards and accolades showered on the editor of this weekly from various quarters while on the other hand, Hezbut Tawheed has no influential person within the govt. or outside it profaning any behind the scene help or support to this Islamic organization. We have always maintained that journalism is a noble profession, but the malicious, devious activities of this particular journalist brings back the memory of one of Hitler′s ministers, who opined that spreading a lie a hundred times makes people believe it as the truth.
